Easy Homemade Mango Sorbet - Sorbetto al Mango
This creamy dreamy magical summer dessert is the easiest thing you will make this week! 3 ingredients and a couple minutes of blending and you’ve got the perfect summertime dessert. This is a recipe to impress and no one will ever know how quick and easy it was to make :)
Homemade Mango sorbet
THE INGREDIENTS -
4 heaping cups frozen mango - approx 1 lb
1/4 cup simple syrup - recipe below
Juice from 1 lime - approx. 2 tablespoons
THE INSTRUCTIONS -
Let the frozen mango sit out for 20-25 minutes.
Add the simple syrup and the lime juice to a blender* (I love my Vitamix :) and then add in the mango chunks. Blend until smooth, adding in a little water or juice (mango or orange) if the blender is struggling. Scrap down the sides if needed and blend again until creamy.
Enjoy right away or put in a container and freeze for a couple of hours or until ready to use. Let sit out for 10 minutes or so before serving.
*A food processor (I love my Cuisinart) could be used instead of a blender. Add in the mango first and pulse to mostly chop up the mango. Then add in the simple syrup and lime juice and process until smooth. Scrap down the sides and process again, adding in a little extra liquid if needed.
*Simple Syrup Recipe - Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool completely before using. Pour into a jar tight-fitting lid and store in the refrigerator for up to one month.
Buon Appetito! And remember, this sorbetto would definitely go good with wine!
